Meet Buck!

Buck's Legacy
2010-2016
Buck was my first baby.

I had family dogs prior to Buck, but they were never my own. They didn't choose me.
Funny enough, Buck wasn't mine either. But he chose me, a rare decision made by a German Shepherd.

You see, for the first 3 years of Buck's life, he was Mick's battle buddy. He went through first deployment and police academy with Mick. They were inseparable... until April 2013, when I entered the scene.

Mick brought me home to meet his dog on our third date.
Buck ran over to me, sniffed me, sat down, and leaned against my leg.
Life from that moment was never the same.

Buck changing alliance was out of character for any dog, but VERY much out of character for a GSD.

He broke the mold of what a dog can be.
While yes, they are poop machines just as they were when I was a kid with chores, they can also be hiking buddies, snuggle bugs, free entertainment, emotional support, and a literal lifeline.

To carry on the love that Buck gave me unsolicited and freely, I have established Buck's Buddies, a nonprofit dog rescue in Clay County, WV with a mission to rescue homeless and abandoned dogs and give them freedom on a family farm of 65 acres.

Stay tuned for our journey.
We can't wait to see what God has planned for us next.
